SK-FPV User Guide
An immersive FPV ground station for Meta Quest. Live video, a spatial HUD, 3D target overlays, a map, and full MAVLink control of a fixed-wing aircraft — all inside the headset.
What it does
SK-FPV receives one or more video streams from the aircraft and paints them onto surfaces floating in front of you in VR. Over that video it draws a heads-up display with airspeed, altitude, attitude, satellite count, link quality, and home distance. It connects to the flight controller over MAVLink to read telemetry, download the mission, and send commands. Geographic targets — waypoints, points of interest, the home point, and a runway — are projected both onto the camera view and as 3D markers in space around you.
The main pieces
| Component | What it is |
|---|---|
| Camera surfaces | Live video planes, or a wraparound spherical dome for ultra-wide fisheye lenses. |
| HUD | A flight instrument overlay rendered in front of you, locked or head-following. |
| 3D target markers | Billboarded icons placed in the world at the real bearing and distance of each target. |
| Map | A satellite minimap centered on the aircraft, with selectable zoom. |
| In-headset menu | A controller-driven settings panel that follows your left hand. |
| Config web server | An optional phone/desktop browser interface for editing configuration, PIN-protected and off by default. |
Two input modes
The app is always in one of two modes, and the Menu button switches between them:
- Flight mode — the controllers fly the aircraft. Sticks map to RC channels; buttons trigger flight functions.
- Menu mode — the left controller drives the settings menu. The right hand keeps flying so you never lose control of the aircraft.
The current mode is shown on the HUD as FLIGHT or MENU.
